Solution Engineer I

Build with us Since 2004, we've had one clear goal: to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe. Today, more than 250,000 companies use Mollie to get paid, manage money and grow – with products designed to be simple, scalable, and dependable. With 950+ Mollies across 14+ locations, we care deeply about autonomy and craft. So we work in small teams, with real ownership, and we trust you to make the right decisions. We're building for the long term, so we provide the tools you need, processes you can rely on, and a balanced work environment to help you do work you're proud of. Sound like your kind of place? Let's build together. Your impact As a Solutions Engineer I in the Connect team, you'll support the partners who bring processing volume to Mollie, think SaaS platforms and marketplaces. Your core activities are discovery, solution design, and implementation support for partner deals, the work that turns a promising conversation into a working integration. Beyond the deal itself, you'll join forecasting meetings with the Connect leadership team to give an honest, objective view of technical deal health, and you'll have regular one-on-ones with the partner acquisition managers you support to align on deal details and next steps. You'll also support events and pitches for the commercial team and contribute to process improvement and internal product feedback, so the lessons from one deal make the next one easier. Solutions Engineers are the bridge between technical and commercial teams at Mollie. Strong discovery means partners get solutions that actually fit, pricing negotiations become smoother, and partner needs and product issues make their way back into the business. That's a direct line to how Mollie expands into new products and partner segments. What you'll ship Lead technical discovery sessions to deeply understand and map complex merchant requirements. Design and present tailored payment solutions, clearly mapping Mollie’s APIs and products to specific business needs. Build and deliver custom demos, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical workshops that prove our value. Act as the technical expert in the room, partnering with Account Executives to overcome objections and close strategic deals. Collaborate directly with Product and Engineering teams, channeling critical merchant feedback to help shape our product roadmap. What you'll bring 2 to 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing, technical role. Customer-facing experience with a technical product, such as pre-sales, solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical customer success Comfortable working with APIs, with the ability to demo and build solutions on top of them Strong discovery skills: understanding what a partner needs and judging what's feasible with the product Ability to explain a complex product, including payment methods, sub-products, and the Connect proposition, to both technical and commercial audiences Experience working with both internal and external senior executives stakeholders A technically curious, commercially minded, and customer-minded approach, with clear rules of engagement, comfortable saying no and pushing back when needed Grow your way At Mollie, growth is personal. We believe everyone should have the chance to develop their skills, explore new challenges and shape their career on their own terms. You'll get regular feedback and performance reviews to support your development, with fair and transparent salary reviews along the way. Many Mollies move into new roles or take on new projects to stretch themselves, and we actively hire from within to help you take the next step. No matter if you're aiming for promotion, exploring a different career path or building new skills, you'll be supported with the tools, trust and opportunities to grow your way.
