About the role
Nubank is building a global Software Asset Management (SAM) capability to govern how software is requested, acquired, secured, provisioned, optimized, renewed, and retired across the company. Software is one of our largest and fastest-growing technology spend categories, and it carries real security, privacy, and audit exposure — every tool we buy creates licenses to optimize, access to control, contracts to honor, and data to protect. We are looking for a senior individual contributor to lead this transformation globally. This role owns the design and implementation of Nubank's SAM operating model, working across Enterprise Technology Services (ETS), Information Security, IAM, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Data Protection, and business areas. This is an IC6 role: you will lead through deep expertise, influence, and execution across multiple functions and geographies. You will not be expected to manage a large team directly; instead, you will set the technical and operational direction for SAM and enable partner teams to execute consistently. You own a clear goal: a trusted, governed, and cost-efficient global software portfolio — with complete inventory, right-sized licenses, controlled access, audit-ready evidence, and measurable savings.

You'll be responsible for
Leading the global implementation of Nubank's Software Asset Management framework, from intake through acquisition, lifecycle management, renewal, and decommissioning. Establishing ETS as the operational owner of the software portfolio and creating clear interfaces with ITSec, IAM, Procurement, Legal, DPO, Finance, and business owners. Implementing an intake-first operating model in which software needs are assessed for catalog fit, duplication, build-vs-buy, security, open source governance, and data-protection requirements before commercial negotiation begins. Defining and operationalizing the Software Catalog as the single source of truth for software assets, owners, licenses, spend, contracts, renewals, usage, risk classification, and access posture. Driving the separation of license management from access management, partnering with IAM to ensure least-privilege access, automated provisioning/deprovisioning, and reliable license reclamation. Designing risk-tiered workflows for SaaS, AI tools, FOSS, browser extensions, connectors, pilots, and exceptions. Establishing lifecycle automation, including renewal alerts, inactivity-based reclamation, ownership reassignment, offboarding workflows, and Shadow IT detection/remediation. Leading the Software Asset Selection Committee and defining decision criteria, escalation paths, exception handling, and governance cadence. Building global SAM standards, policies, RACI, controls, SLAs, playbooks, and reporting practices that meet Nubank's security, regulatory, and audit needs. Partnering with Procurement to improve vendor negotiations through usage data, right-sizing, duplicate-tool consolidation, and early renewal decisions. Defining and reporting the SAM performance framework: inventory completeness, license utilization, reclaimed spend, duplicate-tool reduction, renewal readiness, intake cycle time, access-review completion, and Shadow IT trends. Leading phased adoption across countries and business units, balancing global standards with local regulatory and operating needs. Serving as Nubank's internal subject-matter expert for SAM, ITAM, SaaS governance, and software lifecycle controls. We are looking for a person who has Significant experience leading Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, SaaS Management, or adjacent enterprise technology governance programs in a complex global environment. A recognized SAM/ITAM certification, such as IAITAM CSAM, CITAM, or equivalent certification/experience. Proven experience implementing or significantly evolving a SAM operating model, including tooling, process design, governance, integrations, and adoption. Strong knowledge of software licensing, SaaS contracts, renewals, vendor management, license optimization, and audit/compliance requirements. Practical experience with SAM platforms such as Zylo, Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow, SaaS Management platforms, or similar. Experience working with IAM and identity platforms such as Okta, including the distinction between license entitlement and application access. Ability to design scalable workflows and automation across HRIS, IAM, procurement, ticketing, catalog, finance, and security systems. Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to turn complex operational issues into clear decisions, trade-offs, and measurable outcomes. Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders across Security, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Engineering, and Product without direct authority. Fluency in English; Portuguese or Spanish is a plus. Location for this opportunity (City, Country) São Paulo, Brazil
