The posting, in Second Dinner's own words
archived Sep 10, 2026Who We Are
Second Dinner is an independent game development studio that is here to make the most fun games in the world. Not super fun games. Not SUPER DUPER fun games. We mean the MOST fun games. And for our first game, MARVEL SNAP, we’re partnering with Marvel. That’s right, we get to play in the Marvel Universe!! As a remote-first company, we want the most talented teammates wherever they call home. While our headquarters is in Irvine, California, most of our team is fully remote! We strongly believe a diverse team with varied perspectives makes us a better company, and in turn, will help us make better games. If you can bring something new to the table and expand our point of view, that's a huge upside, and we’d love to meet you!
Our Art Team
At Second Dinner, the Art Team helps define the visual identity of our games and is responsible for creating a cohesive, polished, and memorable player experience. We believe great game art comes from a combination of strong fundamentals, thoughtful collaboration, rapid iteration, and an obsessive attention to detail. As Game Artisans, we’re constantly creating, refining, experimenting, and raising the bar for what our games can look and feel like. We work closely with virtually every discipline across the studio, including Design, Engineering, Production, Product, Data, Marketing, and Sound, to create experiences that are both visually compelling and intuitive for players.

Your Role
As a Senior UI Artist, you will help define and elevate the visual language of MARVEL SNAP across the game's interface and player experience. You’ll own UI art from early exploration through final implementation, translating gameplay and UX requirements into polished, intuitive, and expressive visual experiences. You’ll work closely with UX Designers, Game Designers, Engineers, Product, and the Art Director to solve complex problems through clear visual design. This is a hands-on senior role. We’re looking for someone who can independently take ambiguous problems, develop strong visual solutions, communicate their thinking, and drive those solutions through iteration and implementation. You’ll also help establish and maintain UI visual standards, mentor other artists through feedback and collaboration, and contribute to the continued evolution of MARVEL SNAP’s visual identity. This is a 6-month contract role to start (with possible extension), but if it’s a great mutual fit, it could evolve into a full-time position.
What You’ll Do
Own the visual design and execution of UI experiences from concept through final, game-ready implementation. Create high-quality UI assets including screens, panels, buttons, icons, badges, backgrounds, decorative elements, effects, and other 2D graphic assets. Translate UX flows and gameplay requirements into clear, intuitive, and visually compelling UI solutions. Develop visual explorations, high-fidelity comps, prototypes, and style guides that communicate design intent. Collaborate closely with UX Designers, Game Designers, Engineers, Producers, and other artists to solve UI and player-experience challenges. Establish and maintain cohesive visual standards across UI features and systems. Create and refine iconography, typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and other visual-design systems. Design UI interactions and visual states, including transitions, feedback, emphasis, and other moments that make the interface feel responsive and alive. Implement UI art directly in the game engine and work with Engineers to ensure assets are performant, scalable, and production-ready. Rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine designs based on playtesting, feedback, and evolving product requirements. Identify opportunities to improve existing UI and proactively raise the visual quality and usability of the game. Help establish efficient workflows, processes, and best practices for UI art production. Provide thoughtful feedback, and mentorship to other artists when appropriate.
