Read our Culture Manual and learn more about how we work . The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team detects and responds to money-laundering and terrorist-financing risks at Wealthsimple. Alongside compliance and operational experts, you will help to improve & strengthen Wealthsimple’s AML program, helping to stop financial crime. A typical week in this role would have you solving data problems in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes shipping and iterating on new features for our clients. We are looking for an experienced data expert to deliver data-backed decisions about how to adjust our AML detection strategy. The AML team is at the forefront of every new feature launch, and you will get the opportunity to collaborate with product, technology, and compliance while seeing your work create significant impacts on the business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Create & improve detection models to identify unusual transaction patterns and suspicious activities while minimizing false positives. Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies related to financial crime. Refine risk-scoring models to quantify the level of AML risk associated with clients Develop dashboards to provide insights that enhance program effectiveness. Share AML trends and performance with the AML leadership team
