About the role
Our counterparty risk framework depends on knowing exactly who we're dealing with, and how much risk we're taking on with each of them. You'll own the risk processes from the first credit review to ongoing monitoring, while helping build the processes and framework the function runs on. Because the function is growing, a lot of it will be yours to shape.
What You'll Do
Own and improve the procedures for the counterparty credit risk assessment processes while ensuring consistency, scalability, and auditability. Conduct and compile comprehensive credit assessments and provide detailed written recommendations for new and existing counterparties, incorporating regulatory financial statement analysis and other factors to determine credit limits. Monitor concentration limits and stress testing results within our platform ensuring exposures remain within approved thresholds and flag emerging risks early and with recommended action. Assist in drafting, maintaining, and enforcing counterparty credit risk policies, credit limit framework, and procedures. Work across different teams in a fast-paced environment, supporting both front office and risk development. Make well-reasoned decisions with incomplete information and state the assumptions and risks behind them. Help build lasting positive relationships with our counterparties.
Skills You Bring
1–3+ years experience in counterparty credit risk, credit analysis or a relevant credit risk management role in an investment dealer or brokerage environment Working knowledge of broker-dealer regulatory capital, including risk-adjusted capital and net excess capital, and how to interpret Form 1 and FOCUS filings. Preference given to individuals who are pursuing the CFA, CPA or FRM program.
Who You Are
Relentlessly pursues root causes and is willing to continuously expand their knowledge and competencies. Acts without being told what to do and is ready to “roll up their sleeves” and build solutions from the ground up. Takes full ownership of work and proactively identifies risks before they materialize. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes effectively across multiple concurrent priorities.
