The posting, in Airbnb's own words
archived Sep 9, 2026Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Community You Will Join Our Global Operations Recruiting team is dedicated to building world-class talent pipelines across Airbnb's most critical operational functions. We are a collaborative, data-driven group that partners closely with business leaders across Finance, Legal, HR, Trust, Customer Experience, to attract and hire exceptional talent at scale. We set the standard for recruiting excellence and take pride in delivering an outstanding candidate experience every step of the way. The Difference You Will Make As Recruiting Manager, Global Operations, you will lead a team of recruiters responsible for hiring across Airbnb's global operations functions, while also personally owning and running complex, senior-level searches yourself. This is a hybrid role: part strategic people leader, part expert practitioner. You bring a consultative approach, strong people leadership instincts, and deep operational acumen, and you're equally comfortable setting strategy for your team as you are rolling up your sleeves to run a search end-to-end. You are someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds with rigor, and holds both your team and your stakeholders to a high bar. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, and you will be expected to do both well. A Typical Day Lead, coach, and develop a team of recruiters across global operations functions, holding a high bar for performance, candidate experience, and partnership quality. Personally lead end-to-end searches for senior and/or executive-level roles within Global Operations, from intake through offer and close, modeling the standard you expect from your team. Serve as a strategic talent advisor to senior business leaders across Global Operations, translating hiring needs into executable recruiting strategies. Own team-level goals, metrics, and reporting, proactively sharing data-driven insights with stakeholders and leadership to drive accountability and continuous improvement; represent the team in recurring global forums with funnel health and hiring-progress updates. Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Finance, Employee Experience and Global Operations teams to align on headcount priorities. Drive operational rigor across the full recruiting lifecycle, intake, sourcing strategy, pipeline management, offer execution, and closing, for both your team's requisitions and your own. Proactively identify and resolve pipeline escalations, partnering with business leaders and cross-functional teams to address issues before they impact delivery. Partner with Compensation, HR Business Partners, and Legal to navigate complex offer structures and ensure equitable, compliant hiring practices across global markets. Develop scalable processes and frameworks to improve team efficiency, data integrity, and recruiter capacity planning. Champion an exceptional, high-touch candidate experience, with particular attention to senior-level candidates, ensuring consistent and timely communication at every stage of the hiring process. Exceptional data fluency with the ability to build, interpret, and present recruiting dashboards and pipeline analytics from the ground up; you do not wait for data to come to you, you architect the infrastructure, identify the gaps, and translate complex metrics into clear narratives that drive stakeholder alignment and inform hiring strategy at the leadership level Establish yourself as a subject-matter expert and trusted voice in operations recruiting, both internally and in the broader talent market. Contribute to cross-functional recruiting initiatives, including process design, tooling decisions, and recruiter development programs. Represent the recruiting team in executive-level conversations, including capacity planning, headcount reviews, and quarterly business updates. Your Expertise 9+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including a demonstrated track record personally leading senior-level searches, and at least 2 years managing and developing a team of recruiters. Deep functional expertise in at least one Global Operations sub-function is highly preferred (e.g., Customer Support, Trust & Safety), not just general familiarity with operations hiring. Demonstrated success recruiting for global operations, business functions, or non-technical roles at a technology company. Proven ability to build trust and credibility with senior business leaders and act as a genuine strategic partner rather than a transactional hiring resource. Experience conducting market research, talent mapping, and proactive pipeline-building for senior-level roles, not solely reactive, requisition-driven sourcing. Strong data orientation with the ability to interpret pipeline metrics, forecast capacity needs, and translate insights into action. Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder hiring environments across multiple geographies and business units. Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with sound judgment in ambiguous situations. Proficiency with enterprise recruiting and HRIS tools such as Greenhouse, Workday, Gem or comparable systems. A track record of building inclusive pipelines and championing diversity throughout the hiring process. Genuine comfort carrying a personal search load alongside people leadership, this role requires the ability to lead strategically and operate hands-on, at a senior individual-contributor level, when the work demands it.
