The posting, in Airbnb's own words
archived Sep 18, 2026Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

Why join us:
A seat at the table. We're advisors, not just analysts. Our work shapes real decisions, not just decks. A steep learning curve. Small, lean teams and a focus on internal mobility means broad exposure across product and business areas. If you like ambiguity, moving fast, and building the answer instead of just reporting it, you'll fit right in.
The Difference You Will Make:
As a Principal in Strategic Finance & Analytics supporting Acquisition, you will partner with senior leaders across Homes and Marketing to grow high-quality host supply. You will become the subject matter expert on how host leads are sourced, priced, and converted, with a clear point of view on which channels and tactics warrant further investment. The role demands a strong commercial mindset: translating funnel performance, vendor economics, and marketing efficiency into business implications and recommendations senior leadership can act on. You will own the recommendation, not just the analysis.
A Typical Day:
Lead Generation Performance Management: Own forecasting, goal setting, and executive reporting for lead generation, building scalable frameworks that connect lead volume and quality to activation and revenue. Full-Funnel Analytics: Analyze stage-by-stage conversion and vendor productivity to identify where leads are lost, why, and what it is worth to fix. Sales Operations Design: Optimize sales operations across in-house and vendor channels, spanning capacity planning, routing and prioritization logic, incentive structures, and cost-per-activation economics. Marketing Investment Allocation: Assess brand and search marketing efficiency relative to priority supply markets, and recommend reallocation where returns diverge from where supply is most needed. Executive Communication: Synthesize complex analysis into clear recommendations, and influence cross-functional stakeholders toward alignment on high-impact investment decisions.
Your Expertise:
10+ years in an analytical role such as strategic finance, strategy or management consulting, investment banking, financial planning and analysis, business operations, or private equity, with ownership of recommendations rather than analysis alone. Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to independently extract and interrogate large datasets, with working SQL proficiency. Demonstrated strategic thinking, with a track record of translating ambiguous data into decisions senior leaders act on. Excellent executive communication: leads with the recommendation, calibrates to the audience, and defends assumptions under live scrutiny. High ownership and sound judgment in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with rigorous attention to detail. Preferred: experience in lead generation, supply or customer acquisition, marketing mix and channel efficiency analysis, or evaluating the effectiveness of in-house and outsourced sales channels.
