archived Oct 27, 2026Want to be a part of Asia Pacific & Middle East's (APME) largest, most innovative, and rapidly growing data centre company? AirTrunk is a hyperscale data centre company with a powerful purpose - to scale and sustain the relentless growth of the region’s digital future. We do this by continuously redefining and delivering the digital infrastructure that meet the needs of our customers - the world’s most transformational companies. And we’re doing so sustainably, for today and tomorrow. Having opened Australia’s first and largest hyperscale data centres in 2017, we set our eyes on rapid expansion and now operate a platform of hyperscale data centres across the APME region. With backing from our investors, including Blackstone, this is just the beginning… Come join the A-Team at AirTrunk, where the cloud meets the ground. A Snapshot As Global Site Engineering Leader reporting to our VP Design and Engineering, Senior Director, (based onsite in Sydney), you will work closely with our Design and Development Teams, making an impact in several ways: Lead a global team of AirTrunk’s onsite engineering during detailed design development and construction phases, through to commissioning readiness including technical coordination across CSA, MEP and Owner Supplied Equipment (OSE) and translation of design into successful site implementation. Drive global consistency of construction execution, adherence to schedule, safety and quality standards (QA/QC) across all AirTrunk markets. Collaborate and align with Design Management team around design intent and customer requirements and coordinate contractor designers and specialist engineers during detailed design and construction. Collaborate with Operations Team in global standards for commissioning Champion global standard frameworks to ensure design deliverables are coordinated, buildable, and aligned with AirTrunk standards and product requirements. Drive engineering alignment between design teams, construction teams and commissioning teams. Drive pre-commissioning planning and systems readiness by ensuring design, construction, testing and documentation requirements are clearly defined and integrated into the delivery programme. Establish clear readiness expectations for energisation, start-up and commissioning, including system completion, safe access, controls readiness, vendor attendance and supporting documentation. Drive global consistency process for review and guidance of handover strategy and documentation to Operations team in preparation for systems commissioning including test results, certificates, O&M manuals, training records and asset data,. Establish a global framework where design, construction and operations lessons are learned and fed back to continuously improve AirTrunk’s design and delivery Report on project status and risk to executive Your Day to Day Build, lead and mentor high performing team of site-based engineers supporting the construction delivery team tasked with the following. Review and manage RFIs, technical submittals and engineering Coordinate multidisciplinary pre-commissioning readiness reviews covering installation completion, quality records, access, temporary works, permits, energisation prerequisites and outstanding Work with construction, commissioning, controls and vendor teams to define system boundaries, testing sequences, dependencies and turnover priorities. Verify that required design information, approved submittals, inspection records, test packs, operating procedures and as-built documentation are available before systems are released for commissioning. Track and drive closure of engineering and construction issues that may prevent safe energisation, equipment start-up, functional testing or integrated systems testing. Work closely with General Contractors and trade partners to resolve technical challenges and construction interface issues. Facilitate engineering workshops and BIM coordination meetings to ensure clash resolution and design integration. Identify constructability risks early and implement engineering solutions to maintain schedule and quality. Facilitate and collaborate coordination across internal stakeholders including but not limited to Design innovation, Design Management, Project Directors, Cost, Development and Operations teams. Travel regionally as needed to manage and conduct regular site inspections and engineering reviews of CSA, MEP and OSE installations.
