The posting, in Anthropic's own words
archived Nov 5, 2026About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Nonprofits, universities and other mission-driven organizations do some of the hardest work in the world, usually with small teams and little technical capacity. As a Scaled Account Manager in Beneficial Deployments, you will be the person a named book of these organizations can rely on. You will own each customer relationship after the first conversation, including commercials, activation and the conversations that turn a new deployment into everyday use. This role sits on the Scaled Sales team within Beneficial Deployments, the part of Anthropic that brings Claude to mission-driven organizations sooner and further than the market would on its own. You will work with little to no dedicated Customer Success support, so you are both the seller and the person who helps a customer get real value. That is only possible if you work differently. You will use Claude to take on the short-horizon tasks that consume a book like this, and spend your time on strategic conversations. The role will also change. As we automate more of this work, the book will take less of your time, and that time moves to growth: deeper work with your highest-potential accounts, launches, events and programs that reach many more organizations. We are hiring someone who wants that: someone who will automate parts of their own job and move on to the next hard problem.

What you'll do
Own a named book of nonprofit and education customers. Take over existing relationships and run them end to end: retention, seat growth, plan moves and new contacts inside each organization. Drive activation yourself. Help priority customers in the segment go from purchased seats to weekly use, starting with where staff lose the most time: fundraising, grant writing, reporting and program operations at nonprofits, or research support, teaching and administration in higher ed. Automate your own work. Use to handle account research, follow-ups, usage reviews and routine questions, then share what works so the whole team can use it. Spend your time on strategic conversations. Work with executive directors, operations leads, and IT and academic leaders at universities to find the use cases that matter to their mission and agree what success looks like. Spot who is ready for more. Identify customers moving from individual productivity toward redesigned workflows, build the case, and bring in Applied AI or other specialists when they qualify for deeper support. Build programs, not one-offs. When ten customers have the same problem, create a playbook, webinar or cohort that solves it once. Be the voice of your book. Bring what you hear to Product, Marketing, Support and Operations, and work across those teams to get customer problems fixed.
