In this role, you will make an impact by strengthening our newly structured Finance Operations & Tax function and taking ownership of statutory, tax, and reporting responsibilities across the Adriatic (Croatia & Serbia) region. You will combine group-level finance responsibilities with local statutory and tax requirements, working closely with shared service centres and local advisors. In addition, you will support your manager and serve as a reliable backup, ensuring the continuity of key finance and tax activities during her absence. This role is based in Zagreb (hybrid model)
About the Role
Oversee accounting activities for the East region (Croatia and Serbia) in close collaboration with the Sofia-based accounting hub Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including Balance Sheet reconciliations and proper handling of payments, taxes, and statutory obligations Prepare and review financial statements under both local GAAP and IFRS, managing adjustments and mappings between local and IFRS Charts of Accounts Act as a key contact for external auditors and respond to HQ requests on reporting, accounting, and tax topics within scope Coordinate local tax compliance (corporate tax, VAT, and other local taxes) in collaboration with external advisors, while ensuring correct implementation of group guidelines Contribute to the harmonization, standardization, and automation of finance processes across Europe, supporting the rollout of the new Finance Operations & Tax organization Partner closely with FP&A, Billing, and operational teams, and act as a reliable backup for the direct manager to ensure continuity of key finance and tax activities About You 3+ years of experience in an accounting firm (in audit, accounting, or advisory) Strong foundations in accounting, financial statements, and financial reporting Experience with IFRS and multinational environments is a strong advantage Knowledge of Croatian and/or Serbian accounting and tax regulations is a strong plus Comfortable navigating between group standards and local statutory requirements, with a solid analytical mindset and attention to detail Fluent English (working language); Serbian or Croatian language skills are a strong plus Autonomous, entrepreneurial approach with a strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and team spirit We recognize that everyone carries a unique set of valuable skills and experiences.
