Founded in 2023, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 350 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition. Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.
The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Test Specialist who can independently plan, prepare, execute, and troubleshoot electrical and hardware tests. This role will work closely with Test Engineering and Electrical Design Engineers and other engineering teams to understand hardware functionality and requirements, determine what needs to be tested, select practical test methods, and develop clear test procedures and acceptance criteria. You will own test execution from setup through results, investigate failures to isolate their cause, and help improve test coverage, reliability, and repeatability across development and production hardware.

Key Responsibilities
Review hardware requirements, schematics, block diagrams, and interface documentation to identify test objectives, risks, and gaps in test coverage. Independently determine what to test and how to test it, including instrumentation, test configurations, measurements, and pass/fail criteria. Create, review, and maintain practical test plans, acceptance test procedures (ATPs), checklists, and test instructions for prototype and production hardware. Build, configure, and verify test setups using bench instruments, DAQ systems, harnesses, fixtures, and automated test equipment. Perform hardware bring-up, functional verification, integration tests, and repeatable bench testing with minimal supervision. Execute procedures safely and consistently; capture traceable results, anomalies, deviations, and configuration details. Independently troubleshot failed tests and unexpected hardware behavior using schematics, measurements, and systematic isolation techniques. Distinguish DUT failures from test fixture, instrumentation, wiring, software, or procedure issues; reproduce and characterize failures. Document findings, communicate technical evidence, and work with engineers and manufacturing teams to identify root causes and verify corrective actions. Improve procedures, test coverage, fixtures, and automated test workflows based on results and lessons learned. Prepare concise test reports and maintain accurate records, equipment configurations, and revision-controlled procedures. Provide technical guidance to Test Technicians on setup, test execution, troubleshooting, and good laboratory practices.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical, electronics, avionics, or hardware testing, or equivalent demonstrated capability. Demonstrated ability to plan and perform tests independently, not just follow existing procedures. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical requirements. Proficiency using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and related test equipment. Experience writing test procedures, defining pass/fail criteria, documenting results, and systematically troubleshooting failures. Strong communication, technical documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with aerospace or defense hardware, embedded electronics, avionics, or system integration testing. Experience with NI DAQ hardware, LabVIEW, automated test equipment, and test fixtures. Familiarity with common hardware interfaces such as CAN, UART, RS-422/485, Ethernet, and discrete I/O. Experience supporting product development, design verification, acceptance testing, or production failure analysis. Associate degree or technical training in electronics or a related discipline; engineering degree is a plus, not a requirement.
