OSP Engineering, Design & Technical Leadership
Lead engineering activities for Frontier OSP projects involving aerial, underground, buried, conduit, fiber, and copper infrastructure. Develop engineering designs, construction work prints, splicing diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and supporting documentation. Perform work order engineering for new construction, road moves, relocations, network modifications, and copper-to-fiber conversions. Review existing network facilities and determine engineering requirements for expansions and upgrades. Conduct route planning, constructability reviews, and design optimization. Resolve engineering conflicts involving pole attachments, conduit capacity, cable placement, and existing infrastructure. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Frontier Systems & Engineering Documentation
Utilize Varasset, FROGS, and Infinium to support Frontier engineering workflows, work order management, and project documentation, as applicable. Create, update, and maintain engineering records within Frontier-required systems. Track engineering activities and project milestones through applicable Frontier platforms. Ensure engineering documentation and work orders are accurate and current. Troubleshoot documentation discrepancies and coordinate corrections. Follow Frontier engineering procedures and quality standards.
Field Validation, Standards & Compliance
Perform and coordinate field surveys for aerial and underground telecommunications facilities. Evaluate pole conditions, cable routes, conduit availability, and construction feasibility. Ensure designs comply with NESC , Frontier specifications, and applicable regulations. Identify construction conflicts and recommend engineering solutions. Review field findings, redlines, and as-built documentation. Support field inspections and resolve engineering issues during construction.
Permitting, Right-of-Way & Joint Use
Develop and review engineering documentation for municipal, county, state, and utility permits. Coordinate right-of-way (ROW), easement, and access requirements. Support pole attachment applications, pole loading analysis, make-ready engineering, and joint-use coordination. Work with utilities, permitting agencies, and construction teams to resolve design conflicts. Ensure permit documentation aligns with Frontier requirements.
