archived Oct 21, 2026About Re:Build
At Re:Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions. We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation. The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Manufacturing Engineer II to join our dynamic team at Composite Resources, a Re:Build Manufacturing company. This role involves independently leading composite manufacturing process development, optimization, and ongoing improvement efforts. You will act as a technical authority for specific product lines or manufacturing areas, driving measurable gains in quality, cost, and efficiency. You will also ensure the smooth transition of new products from prototype to serial production.
What you get to do!
Take charge of developing and refining composite manufacturing processes for specific product families or production cells. Build and implement advanced manufacturing solutions including automated layup aids, cure cycle optimization, and in-process quality checks. Develop manufacturing tooling and fixtures using SolidWorks; manage tooling fabrication projects from concept through validation. Conduct Build of Experiments (DOE) and establish process capability studies (Cpk analysis) and statistical process control (SPC). Lead validation activities for new materials, equipment, and processes; author process specifications and control plans. Serve as technical point of contact for complex manufacturing issues and lead cross-functional root cause analysis (8D, DMAIC) when addressing customer concerns. Take responsibility for manufacturing readiness for assigned NPI programs and guarantee a seamless handover from Product Engineering to serial production. Guide lean manufacturing projects and support junior engineers and technicians in process engineering and troubleshooting.
What you will bring to the Team
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field required. 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in composite or advanced manufacturing environment. Proven track record leading process improvement projects with measurable results. Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable CAD software, statistical analysis tools, and composite manufacturing methods. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. Deep knowledge of composite materials science and GD&T (ASME Y14.5). Strong project leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to guide junior engineers and work across departments to address complex manufacturing challenges.
