We are building a collaborative, tech-savvy accounting team that partners closely with local and global stakeholders to support Riot’s growing business in Korea. As a Senior Accountant , you will take ownership of key revenue accounting areas, with a primary focus on game revenue, esports revenue, and other emerging business areas. You will apply accounting judgment to complex and evolving transactions, assess accounting and operational risks, and help shape scalable processes and controls that support Riot’s growing business. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to independently work through unfamiliar or ambiguous issues while effectively collaborating with relevant stakeholders on complex matters. Strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills are essential, as you will regularly work with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and business teams. As a Rioter in Seoul, you’ll join a tight-knit group of passionate professionals who care deeply about serving players in Korea and around the world. You will report to Sr. Manager, Accounting.
Responsibilities:
Independently perform revenue recognition assessments for new, evolving, or complex transactions, including reviewing relevant contracts and transaction terms and developing appropriate accounting positions Lead and coordinate external audit and local statutory reporting matters across key accounting areas, including revenue and accounts receivable, providing accounting expertise on relevant US GAAP and local reporting requirements Assess accounting and operational risks across revenue processes and new business initiatives, and drive process and control improvements to mitigate risks, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and enhance operational efficiency and scalability Perform analytical reviews of revenue-related balances, trends, and fluctuations, independently investigate unusual items or emerging issues, and drive them through resolution with relevant stakeholders Manage month-end revenue accounting activities across multiple revenue streams, including revenue recognition, journal entries, account reconciliations, and related reporting, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment, clear supporting documentation, and timely completion Manage operational billing and collection processes, including invoice preparation, accounts receivable monitoring, aging review, collection follow-up, and resolution of settlement or billing issues Review related-party and intercompany transactions affecting revenue, billing, settlements, or related balances, assess the accounting implications, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve identified issues Collaborate closely with business and cross-functional teams on new initiatives and changing business models to understand transaction flows, evaluate accounting and operational implications, and establish practical and scalable processes before launch

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or a related finance role, with a strong foundation in financial accounting Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and regions Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and organizational skills A curious and proactive mindset, with a strong willingness to ask the right questions to uncover the bigger picture behind operational and financial matters Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and follow through in a fast-paced environment Positive, collaborative, and professional attitude, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams Coachable mindset with openness to direction, feedback, and continuous learning Reliable execution and strong follow-through on assigned responsibilities
Desired Qualifications:
CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred Big 4 experience required Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS, particularly revenue recognition principles, is preferred Experience with revenue accounting in a multi-entity or global business environment Interest in the gaming, entertainment, digital platform, consumer products, or technology industries Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle Strong aptitude for data, systems, and technology, with a genuine interest in leveraging tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of accounting processes Experience working with high-volume transactions and operational revenue processes For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players.
