The posting, in Riot Games's own words
archived Oct 26, 2026Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played video game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience. We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints. That's where you come in. As a Senior Software Engineer on Riot’s Account and Identity Management team you’ll build and operate the persistent account and identity experiences that help players understand, manage, and control their Riot accounts after sign-up. You’ll work on capabilities such as account settings, Riot ID management, account linking, privacy and communication preferences, parental controls, account recovery, and self-service workflows. You will be serving players worldwide and help evolve regional solutions into reusable global capabilities. You’ll independently drive multi-month projects from discovery and technical design through launch and production support, collaborating with engineers, product partners, Player Support, and teams across Riot. You’ll write secure, reliable, well-tested services and APIs that your team will be accountable for. You will contribute to a strong engineering culture through design reviews, documentation, and mentorship. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent expertise, experience with backend services and distributed systems, and strong ownership, communication, and technical judgment. Experience with Java or Kotlin, cloud infrastructure, identity systems, OAuth or OpenID Connect, and web security is a plus.
