ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY ENGINEER, EHS TRAINING PROGRAMS The Senior EHS Engineer provides business unit-level support to SpaceX’s Starlink operations in Bastrop, TX, focusing on the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training programs that enhance operational safety, regulatory compliance, and workforce capability in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, develop, and implement comprehensive EHS training curricula, materials, and programs aligned with operational needs, regulatory requirements, and risk reduction priorities. Conduct training needs assessments, gap analyses, and evaluations of existing programs to identify opportunities for improvement and new content development. Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions; create and maintain educational materials, job aids, and awareness resources for employees at all levels. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and EHS teams across the business unit to solicit feedback, ensure training relevance, and integrate lessons learned from incidents, audits, and performance data. Manage learning management system (LMS) content, tracking, reporting, and compliance documentation for EHS training completion and effectiveness. Partner with internal stakeholders and/or contractors to enhance training delivery methods, tools, and platforms; manage related projects to completion using a disciplined project management framework. Analyze training-related data (completion rates, assessments, incident correlations) to measure program effectiveness, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement; develop dashboards and visualizations as needed. Architect strategic training roadmaps and action plans that support organizational priorities around risk reduction, operational excellence, and EHS maturity. Identify training and competency challenges, lead problem formulation, determine root causes, and implement creative, effective solutions. Communicate effectively with different levels of the organization, including training delivery, content reviews with engineers/SMEs, and presentations to leadership.
