Tanium is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead and execute the company's social media presence across key platforms. This role is responsible for developing and managing content strategies that elevate Tanium's brand, engage target audiences, and support broader communications and marketing objectives. The ideal candidate brings a creative yet data-driven approach to social media and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.
What you'll do:
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Tanium's brand voice, messaging, and business objectives across platforms including LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube. Plan, create, schedule, and publish engaging organic content including copy, graphics, and video in coordination with internal teams and external creative partners. Monitor social media channels daily, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and on-brand manner to foster community engagement. Analyze social media performance metrics and produce regular reporting on key KPIs, using insights to optimize content strategy and inform stakeholder decisions. Collaborate cross-functionally with Communications, Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and Design teams to align social content with campaigns, product launches, and company announcements. Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and competitor activity, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance Tanium's digital presence. Partner with internal subject matter experts and executives to develop thought leadership content that amplifies Tanium's voice in the cybersecurity industry. Manage and maintain a social media content calendar, ensuring consistent publishing cadence and alignment with the broader communications editorial calendar. Produce and manage LinkedIn Live programming and video content, including coordination with speakers, live moderation, and post-event repurposing across channels. Provide real-time social media coverage at industry conferences and events, including live posting, on-site content capture, and post-event amplification.

We're looking for someone with:
Education Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience Experience 2-5 years of experience managing social media channels for a B2B technology or enterprise software company, or equivalent experience in a related industry Demonstrated experience developing and executing organic social media strategies that drive measurable engagement and brand awareness Experience using social media management and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Sprinklr, or similar tools Experience collaborating with creative, marketing, and communications teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Other Strong understanding of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, Instagram) and their respective best practices for B2B audiences Proficiency with social media management tools and analytics platforms Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different platforms and audiences Familiarity with basic graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite preferred Ability to interpret data and translate social media metrics into actionable insights and clear stakeholder reporting Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Travel Requirements: 25% About Tanium Tanium is the Autonomous IT company.
