Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform that conveniently connects people with Taskers to handle everyday home to-do’s, such as furniture assembly, handyman work, moving help, and much more. At Taskrabbit, we want to transform lives one task at a time. As a company we celebrate innovation, inclusion and hard work. Our culture is collaborative, pragmatic, and fast-paced. We’re looking for talented, entrepreneurially minded and data-driven people who also have a passion for helping people do what they love. Together with IKEA, we’re creating more opportunities for people to earn a consistent, meaningful income on their own terms by building lasting relationships with clients in communities around the world. Taskrabbit is a hybrid company with employees distributed across the US and EU and a Built In — Best Places to Work (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) continually ranked across multiple national and regional categories. Join us at Taskrabbit, where your work will be meaningful, your ideas valued, and your potential unleashed! This role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring two days of in-office collaboration per week in our San Francisco office (130 Sutter Street).
About the Role:
As Senior Product Manager for Commerce, you will own Taskrabbit's global commerce platform, which covers how clients pay for their tasks and how Taskers get paid for their work. The Commerce team's goals are to make it easy for clients around the world to book and pay, get Taskers their earnings quickly and reliably, reduce what we spend to process payments, and keep our payments platform compliant and reliable in every market we operate in. As the PM for the team, you will propose, shape, and execute the initiatives that move us toward these goals. You'll lead a team made up mainly of backend engineers and partner with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal to identify problems, prioritize the work that matters most, and deliver it. We're looking for someone who knows the payments landscape well and can lead independently from day one. You don't need marketplace experience. What matters more is that you care about the people on both sides of a payment, you dig into problems until you understand why they happened, and you're comfortable going deep into how payments systems work behind the scenes.

What You'll Work On:
Own the global commerce platform, including client payments (e.g., payment methods, booking experience) and Tasker money movement (e.g., payouts and earnings) across every market we operate in. Improve how payments work for our users, e.g., launching new payment methods that increase booking conversion in different markets, reducing payout delays for Taskers, and removing friction from checkout. Investigate payment issues end to end. When something goes wrong (a spike in declines, a delayed payout, numbers that don't match what Finance sees), you'll find the root cause using every tool available, including AI tools to explore data and system behavior. Plan and sequence the team's initiatives with your engineering lead and drive them to delivery, balancing user-facing improvements, cost reduction, compliance requirements, and platform health. Prioritize ruthlessly. There will always be more work than the team can take on, so you'll decide what moves the needle and be clear about what we won't do. Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal, and communicate the roadmap and outcomes to Taskrabbit senior leadership.
Your Areas of Expertise:
Payments experience: You have deep experience building B2C payments products (e.g., integrating with payment processors, adding payment methods like PayPal, BNPL, or SEPA, managing payouts), and you know the landscape well enough to lead with minimal supervision from day one. Global payments experience is a strong plus. Product sense for payments: You understand how the payment experience shapes user behavior and business outcomes, and you can tell which improvements will actually move conversion, retention, or cost. You track metrics like authorization and decline rates, and you know where to look when they move. User champion: You care about the problems users run into with payments, and you don't stop at the first answer. You keep asking why until you get to the root cause. You don't need to write code or SQL, but you're comfortable using AI tools to query data, understand how our systems behave, and get to answers yourself rather than waiting on someone else. Systems-level understanding: You understand how payments work under the hood (e.g., auth and capture flows, ledgers, reconciliation, processor and bank interactions), or you're eager to learn our backend setup in detail. The more you know about the system, the better the products you'll build, and the more effectively you'll work with a backend-heavy engineering team. Prioritization: You have a strong sense of what moves the needle, and you make tradeoffs with conviction. You're comfortable saying no, explaining why, and keeping the team focused on the highest-impact work with limited resources. Stakeholder relationships: You build trust with partners across the company, gather input from many sources, and turn it into a clear plan. You've worked with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal teams and understand what each of them needs from a payments platform. Execution and communication: You get things done, remove blockers, and roll up your sleeves when needed. You communicate clearly in writing and in person.
