Application Information:
Application deadline: applications accepted on an ongoing basis until position is closed and filled This posting is for an existing vacancy Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, Developer Productivity As a Senior Software Engineer, Developer Productivity , you'll: Design and build the Nest.js service scaffolding that lets product teams stand up new backend services in our next-generation monorepo Implement paved paths, generators, and the platform primitives that make a new service work on day one rather than after a week of wiring. Build the seams that let new services run independently of our existing monolith. Own the deployment story for services and web applications on Cloudflare, and the interoperability with our existing AWS and Kubernetes estate managed through Pulumi and Argo CD. Lead migrations of substantial codebases into the monorepo and turn each one into a repeatable recipe rather than a bespoke effort. Partner directly with product teams as platform customers, treating their adoption as the measure of success and their friction as your backlog. Raise the leverage of the whole team by encoding what you learn into tooling, generators and agent-assisted workflows, so the next migration costs less than the last. Participate in engineering citizenship activities such as co-authoring engineering blogs, strengthening our hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams.
Requirements:
BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience 5+ years building and operating backend services in production Demonstrated experience in backend service design defining service boundaries, contracts and data ownership, not only implementing within them Business-level fluency to read, write and speak in English You'll thrive as a Senior Software Engineer, Developer Productivity, if you: Have worked inside a large, heavily-coupled codebase and found the seams: extracting or bypassing functionality incrementally, behind behaviour-preserving contracts Are fluent in TypeScript and Node, and comfortable with edge runtimes. Have hands-on experience with monorepo tooling at scale (Nx, Turborepo or similar) and understand why build-graph correctness is a product concern rather than a config detail. Treat migration work as engineering rather than chores: you budget for the parts that fail silently, verify generated output rather than trusting a green build, and know that bug-for-bug translation beats improvement when the goal is proving nothing changed. Enjoy being a platform engineer with real customers — partnering with product teams, adapting the platform to how they actually work rather than requiring them to change, and measuring yourself on their adoption. Are comfortable working across cloud boundaries, with a considered view on where a workload belongs and what crossing between clouds costs in latency and spend. Communicate decisions in writing well enough that someone can pick up your work from the ticket — and are willing to say plainly when the fast answer and the right answer diverge. Stay curious and open to growth — demonstrating a proactive embrace of AI, and actively building and applying fluency in emerging technologies to elevate how we work, drive faster outcomes, and expand collective impact.
