Headquartered in Seattle and Barcelona, we’re a values driven, fast-growing tech company focused on building safe and personalized experiences tailored to the needs of each unique pet. We’re investing in AI as a business accelerator and provide every team member access to AI tools in service of creating better experiences for our community. We are proud to be recognized as a great place to work, having been named among the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Seattle Business Magazine and Washington’s Best Workplaces in the Puget Sound Business Journal. At Rover we’re committed to creating an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming community, which starts with our employees. Want to make an impact? Join our pack and come work (and play!) with us.
Your responsibilities:
Develop the roadmap for your programs with the engineering managers leading these teams, turning their priorities into a plan with clear objectives, sequencing, and measures of success. Drive that plan through to delivery: run the cadence, keep dependencies visible, identify risks early, and drive them to resolution or escalate with clarity and context when you can’t. Lead the highest-impact initiatives across Developer Experience and Client Platform, including the work that falls between the two teams, coordinating with the teams that depend on them. Communicate change across the makers who depend on these platforms, from engineers to PMs, designers, and analysts, covering what is shipping, what is coming, and how teams should plan around it. Drive adoption of what these teams build, not just delivery of it. Aggregate what makers actually need. Run the feedback loops with developers and other internal users, turn dense, messy input into a prioritized recommendation, and lead the process that gets the engineering managers to a decision on where to invest. Surface duplication and help drive consolidation. As the organization builds quickly, find where the same capability is being built more than once, make the case for a single, better version, and work with the teams to get there. Define and report the metrics that tell us whether these platforms are working: adoption, cycle time, release health, developer satisfaction. Do your own data discovery to find the signal rather than waiting for a dashboard to be handed to you. Keep programs legible and the teams running well: maintain the project plans, status updates, and documentation others can actually find and use, and propose the process changes that fix inefficiencies you see across your teams and their partners.
